DIY Thanksgiving Table Decor

DIY Table Decor

Thanksgiving is almost here and this year I am cooking for over 30 people!  Over the weekend I started planning out my tables and seating arrangements.  I also practiced decorating the tables and I have an easy and cute DIY table decor idea for you!

I wanted to do something with a Fall theme that played off the colors in my table and china.  My table is dark brown wood with a black glass center.  My china is a large floral print with grey and gold accents.  That’s a lot of colors but luckily neutrals are easy to manage!

I decided to take a play on the word “Thanksgiving” and remind everyone what we are gathered for today: to Give Thanks.  For this idea I used a simple letter template as a guide then hand painted letters on card stock to spell out the words “GIVE THANKS” and attached them to candles.

I then filled a cornucopia with edible items and sprinkled with fall potpourri and ribbon to complete the look.

All the Thanksgiving decor is 50% off at the major craft stores and so I picked up several cornucopias, various fall potpourri and neutral candles (also 50% off) along with card stock and acrylic paint.  In total, I spent about $40.  I plan on using the potpourri and candles for another craft or as decor around my house.

What does your holiday table look like?  I’d love to hear what you incorporated into your table decor.  Happy Thanksgiving!
